Terms of Service

Last updated: February 16, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the DeadLetter website and services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

DeadLetter is a scholarship intelligence and discovery platform. We use proprietary technology to find and score scholarship opportunities from publicly available data on the internet. Our service provides information and tools to help you find and manage scholarship applications.

Disclaimer: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of third-party scholarship information, including award amounts, deadlines, or eligibility criteria. This information is subject to change without notice. You are solely responsible for verifying all scholarship details directly with the awarding organization before applying.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Free and Premium Tiers

The Service is offered on a freemium basis. The Free "Discovery" tier has limitations, including a cap on the number of scholarships you can save to your pipeline.

The "Pro" tier is a premium subscription service, typically billed monthly or annually. By subscribing to Pro, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fees. Subscriptions are automatically recurring. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings. Your cancellation will be effective at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain Pro access until that time. Subscription fees are non-refundable.

5. No Guarantee of Scholarship Awards

DeadLetter provides informational tools to assist in your scholarship search. We do not, under any circumstances, guarantee that you will be awarded any scholarship. All scores, including the Leverage Index, win probability, and estimated ROI, are estimates based on our analysis of available data and should be used for informational purposes only. They are not a promise or guarantee of success.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to our scoring algorithms, software, text, graphics, and logos) are and will remain the exclusive property of DeadLetter and its licensors. Scholarship listing data itself is sourced from third-party organizations and remains the property of those respective organizations. Our Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of both the United States and foreign countries.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to use the Service to: (a) scrape, reverse-engineer, or otherwise attempt to access our proprietary data or algorithms; (b) interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers; (c) violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall DeadLetter, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence) or any other legal theory, whether or not we have been informed of the possibility of such damage.

9. Modifications to the Service or Terms

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend our Service, and any service or material we provide via the Service, in our sole discretion without notice. We also reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this site and, where feasible, through email or an in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after such notification constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
